Ballet

Ballet is one of the oldest dance styles. It is based on a vocabulary and technique that focuses on strength, mobility, and grace. Ballet is the foundation for most styles of dance. Classes combine stretching, barre exercises, and center technique work. Ballet is one of the most disciplined dance styles and provides a deep foundation for any dancer. It is required for team members.

Pointe

An advanced form of classical ballet training is open to those with several years of ballet experience, where the dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet when wearing pointe shoes. This class is by invitation only due to the nature of the discipline and the effort it requires reserved for those 11 years of age (minimum) and older.  We require a pre-pointe season to ensure the dancers are ready for this next level.  Other factors that weigh the decision to start pointe work are desire to learn, commitment level, alignment, strength, technical ability, and facility.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop, originally a form of street dance, has become a popular way to get active, have fun, and learn performance elements of this specific genre. Our Hip Hop classes combine a warm-up, grooves, across-the-floor exercises, and fun dance combos that challenge the dancers. This hard-hitting and powerful form of dance is a great way to let energy out while learning new tricks or working on old ones!

Lyrical

Lyrical dance combines ballet and jazz techniques to create movement based on feelings and musicality. This class will help students hone in on their emotions while learning technical movement. The improv portion of this training allows our students to learn to express themselves with a sense of freedom and fluidity without structured choreography.

Technique

In technique class, dancers have the opportunity to refine the technical aspects they learn in their other classes. This includes working on flexibility, turns, leaps, and other technical skills tailored to each dancer's specific needs. The class focuses more on training than on performance and is beneficial for dancers of all ages and dance styles. It is mandatory for Team Members.

Acro/Tumbling

Our dance-focused acro and tumbling classes teach flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination by combining dance technique and tumbling skills. Agility and posture will be a focus as we safely instruct dancers on the acro moves they need to take their training step-by-step in this genre. Prerequisites are required for specific levels, and each dancer develops at their own rate: differentiating skill sessions within one class is common in this genre.
